Here, he taught thousands of students, translating religious texts from Greek into Old Church Slavonic and further developing the Glagolitic script, leading to the creation of the Cyrillic alphabet. In 893 AD, Clement was ordained as the first Slavic bishop, overseeing the diocese of Drembica and Velika.
